The remains of this American Flying Fortress provide an interesting dive for novices and experienced divers alike. The whole width of the huge wings (18 metres) can be found with the undercarriage wheels showing on its back edge. Sometimes though, after winter storms, parts of this wreck can become covered.
The fuel tanks are still in place but there is no sign of the main fuselage or engines. It is a mystery as to the location of thes, however, one of the engines is known to have been lifted in the sixties. |
