24-29m, boulders and coarse sand |
This is an area of ground that is raised from the surrounding coarse sand seabed. It is largely small boulders and cobbley stones that are covered in sponges of all colours, wonderful for photographers. The area usually has the best visibility is the bay due to the nature of the seabed which settles quickly after rough weather.
The surrounding area of sand has many sea fans and scallops. Many fish including brill, skate and sole have made this their home, which local fishermen were quick to realise. |
